Amazon Plans Premium Speaker with Large Screen

Today Bloomberg reported that Amazon is developing a new speaker similar to the Echo except that it will also have a 7-inch touchscreen. Amazon is clearly trying to capitalize on its success with its Echo speaker and Alexa voice assistant, but adding a screen to its new device is a departure from its “voice first” predecessors. One person who spoke to Bloomberg from Amazon said the new device will tilt upwards for better viewing and be larger than Amazon’s other speakers. Although Amazon declined to comment, another inside source confirmed the new speaker will be announced sometime in the first quarter of 2017. LINK
