WSJ – Amazon’s New Tune Could Speak Volumes About Google Rivalry

The Wall Street Journal – Amazon’s launch of its new Amazon Music Unlimited streaming music service isn’t just a threat to Spotify and Apple. It’s also a new threat to Google who announced its new Google Home smart speaker earlier this month. Amazon will offer its streaming service to Echo users for just $3.99 a month, which is about 60% cheaper than any other music subscription available today. If Amazon was looking for a way to motivate consumers to choose its Echo device over Google Home, a streaming music service at that price could be it. It also allows Amazon to tap into its estimated 63 million Amazon Prime users by offering the subscription at a discount for members. LINK
