Engadget – SoundHound’s Voice Assistant Lives Inside It’s Own Speaker

Engadget – Research has shown that the number one use of the Amazon Echo speaker is to play music, a fact SoundHound is trying to capitalize on with its new Hurricane smart speaker. The Hurricane is manufactured by third-party Boombotix and capitalizes on SoundHound’s voice recognition service to deliver a custom interactive experience for the user. The smart speaker can tell users what the weather is, how much a hotel will cost and offer tailored playlists. And unlike Alexa, new skills and features do not have to be enabled for the “domain” to work. The Hurricane is available to order on KickStarter for $199 and will ship in December. LINK
